STELLA TSAKOS, LMSW

I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with a Master’s degree in Social Work from Fordham University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Hunter College, CUNY. I have experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of mental health, behavioral, and substance use concerns.
I believe therapy should be a space where you can show up as yourself and feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported. My approach is warm, compassionate, collaborative, and person-centered. I strive to meet each client where they are while helping them recognize their strengths, better understand themselves, and feel more confident navigating life’s challenges.
My goal is to help clients develop practical tools, build resilience, and create meaningful changes that extend beyond the therapy room. I incorporate CBT, positive psychology, Motivational Interviewing, DBT-informed strategies, mindfulness, psychoeducation, and solution-focused techniques based on each client’s individual needs.
